Why is the game of gladiators needed to maintain control of the Roman emperors company?
I need at least three reasons.
Because the games are necessary to keep people happy. If the people were happy, knowing that the emperors were happy, they would like emperors. A population content is even less likely to cause problems to their leaders. If they were not loyal to the emperors, the emperors had the power to make games go. So I guess the games are jobs, people and money to a Roman city in which they were held.
