roman gladiators training
How did Roman Gladiators train?

What type of training did they do to try to survive? Other than fighting to the death? Like, how did they prepare for the fights?

Gladiators lived at special “gladiator schools” where they trained.
A famous gladiator school is located in the city of Capua.

In these schools…

They practiced every day for hours with wooden swords against each other or against dummies

They did heavy physical training (invented the push-up), including manual labor

They ate a high protein diet to build their muscles (everyday they would eat a spoonful of ash because it was thought to make them stronger)

These are the three main things they did for training. Hope I helped.
